The Best BBQ Patio Action You Can Have This Side of the Mississippi 2: Beverage Boogaloo

Last time we set out with a lofty goal this month. To give you the tips to have the BEST BBQ you have ever had. Previously we looked at some different grilling options past the burger and hot dog standards (though no shade being thrown here, burgers and dogs are a classic for a reason!) This time around we are going to throw out some killer summer cocktails and drink options. If you’re elevating the menu, Beer and Beer lite just won’t do – though they always have their place, maybe save those for the river. All of these are easy enough to whip up, even the most rookie of bartenders can handle in under 30 minutes.

The Strawberry Frose

In less than a half hour you can have 4-6 strawberry slushy goodness. Using rose, vodka, lemon juice, strawberries, and ice. Blend it up, making sure it isn’t too watery, and serve immediately. Garnish with more strawberries if you’re feeling fancy.

Mermaid Lemonade

Take a glass, add ice, then in this order: blue curacao, rum, lemonade. Stir to combine. Skewer some lemon slices and cherries on little paper umbrellas and enjoy that tropical beverage!

Pink Senorita

Take a lemon wedge and rub around the rim of four glasses, dip those bad boys in salt. Add ice, lemon juice, pink lemonade, triple sec, and tequila. Stir. Garnish with a lemon slice and enjoy! More detailed recipe and ingredient list can be found here.

Mocktail Options:

For those who can’t or choose not to imbibe, there are a number of game changing beverages you can whip up. A watermelon lemonade mix, or a lime zinger.

Alright those should be enough options to get you started. These can be whipped up wicked fast and you and your guests will be drinking refreshing cocktails along with your tasty grilled treats. Next time we’ll look at some activities to add into your BBQ routine.
